A BRIEF HISTORY
Way back in high school began my desire to own a Mamod steam engine. Until then I didn't even know these wonderful little engines existed and the idea that you could get an almost pocket sized steam engine specifically to power your Meccano creations was amazing to me. The engine in question was a simple Mamod SE2A that my physics teacher had borrowed from the store room for a little demonstration. It wasn't until a few years later that I began my own collection, though it wasn't intended as such. It just sort of got out of hand as often these things do. The first engine was a Mamod SP1 that I bought on eBay in 2013 for small change by today's prices. It is a lovely little engine and I ran it at every opportunity I got. I usually enjoyed to run it when there were plenty of people in the house because admittedly I like to show off a bit. The next engine was a Mamod TE1A traction engine followed by the discovery of Wilesco engines with a Wilesco D16 and so on. Welcome to The Live Steam Collection.
