MF Twin
This is No.70 of 100 and the first one to be made in 7 years. Made by Ian Grantham and is a fine replica of a pre-war Mamod twin piston MM2 of which an original is very, very rare. There will be a very limited quantity produced of these again to finish of the run of 100. This album will be updated since this engine is still a work in progress and the early photos were provided by Ian himself. Edit: The engine was completed on Sunday 31st January 2021.
Burnac Vulcan
Burnac only made one model of engine with a few very minor variations. This is a very heavy engine with a thick copper boiler. It is missing a safety valve but can and will be sourced from a popular auction site. It is in otherwise exceptional condition and I am unsure if it has been restored by the previous owner.
EIWI Walking Beam Engine
This is a Polish built engine. It is one of several models of engine by EIWI that are all cast and machined from brass. It is beautifully machined and a sight to look at. It's very heavy too.
Swan (Hobran) M1
This is the oldest engine in the collection at around one hundred years old (1920-1925). It was manufactured by the Hobran engineering company in Wolverhampton. This one was a bit crusty but it cleaned up not bad. No repaints, I like the look of it as is. It was missing a screw from the fire box but I was able to source a matching one from my odd box.
SEL Model Junior 1530
This is the smallest engine of the collection. It has a reproduction safety valve as the one that came with it, while it was from an SEL, it wasn't the one for this engine. The SEL 1520 often came with a plug instead of a safety valve (I wonder who's idea that was) and that is what was included here which was wrong for this engine. Otherwise it's not far off as new. The box shows its age.
Merit (SEL) Model "Standard" No. 1540
This is very similar to the SEL 1530. It is the next model up in the same range of engines, though it is branded under the company's other trade name. It is all original and it shows but there seems to be no problems mechanically.
Bowman M122
This is the second oldest engine of the collection at around one hundred years old and completely original, but its age most definitely doesn't hold it back.
